The Sheiling Reviews

Sharon
Beautiful comfortable property, everything you need in the property, outstanding views, lovely walks around the lake and great food at rudyard hotel.
Derrick
Having stayed at both your properties I can honestly say that they are outstanding in the most beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Just one small point given that the facilities are well catered for, an iron and ironing board would have come in handy.
Debbie
Lovely property and it had everything that we needed. The hot tub was our favourite place. We went as a group of 4 with 2 dogs and were very comfortable. Wonderful place to stay.
Andrew
There were a couple of problems with the heatingboiler but the maintenance people were totally responsive and helpful. Really loved the place and will go back
Well what can I say other than wow! We were fortunate enough to arrive at the end of a cold snap, to what can only be described as a winter wonderland. Snow and a frozen lake, but a warm, cozy house with amazing views. The house is stunning and in an amazing location, with some lovely touches like the bath in bedroom with views over the lake and the hot tub. The team are really friendly, and answered our queries really quickly. The only thing we can think its missing is a cafetire. We would very happily spend another week here.

We had a great stay at the Sheiling. Its a beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Especially the circular walk around the Lake is great for walking the dogs. The house itself had all the comfort we need, a cosey livingroom a and diningarea. All with views on the Lake. Its really idealic and sereen. The caretaker was also very friendly. There was a Christmas tree and decorations which made the Sheiling experience around Christmas time superB. Thank you very much!
We had a 7 day stay here and it's a beautiful property. Perfect to relax and enjoy the scenery, especially from the rear of the house. Plus, the hot tub has been the best and the biggest one we've had, when on holiday. Plenty of room to stretch out, even with four people in it. Would certainly book The Sheiling again.
The sheiling is a very nice, cosy and warm property overlooking Rudyard lake. The hot tub is fantastic and well maintained, a couple of reasons for not scoring 5 star is mainly the access from the top where you park the car down into the property, this is navigated by a steep downhill on a pea gravel path with few sleepers as steps there should be a picture of this on the Sykes site when viewing, I am sure some people will book this and arrive thinking I can't get in to the property. Secondly if you wish to cook yourself the kitchen had limited utensils. Overall a beautiful house just needs a tweak thank you.
This place is amazing! The views are out of this world! Even when it rained! It felt home from home but more luxurious! We didnt want to leave!
Fantastic cottage and setting. Minor issue with sink being loose and toilet seats moving. Would recommend and will be back next year
A simply stunning place to stay. The views of the lake are incredible, even on rainy days. And on those rainy days there was nothing nicer than lighting the log burner and settling down with a good book. The house itself is gorgeous, finished to a high standard, with some lovely touches thanks for the fizz. The hot tub was a fantastic bonus. I wish we'd booked for longer, just what was needed to recharge the batteries.
Amanda
The property was beautiful and every need was catered for. The extra touches such as special biscuits, milk and prosecco were lovely. Hosts were extremely helpful yet not invasive. A perfect holiday.
Absolutely amazing location, superb facilities and a property maintained to a very high spec.
The communication from the team was excellent and the property is amazing. It has been refurbished to a high standard and the views are amazing. Would highly recommend staying here.
The property was absolutely beautiful, it was in immaculate condition upon arrival and the view was absolutely stunning. I would definitely recommend staying.
Annabel
