An amazing property with everything a couple of people could possibly want from a few days away. Whilst the immediate area doesn't offer too much in the form of things to do, a trip a little further afield offers some great days out. Chester and Shrewsbury being two examples of places we visited. Incidentally if you're an EV owner the closest rapid chargers are either in Stoke or Market Drayton, both under 10 miles away, but the facility at McDonalds in Market Drayton although slightly further away, is probably the preferred one. Even though there are plenty of places to visit around an hour away, there's every chance you'll want to spend a fair bit of your time at the lodge. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in quality. The kitchenette is equipped with everything you're likely to need for a few days away. The double bed is comfortable, but would benefit from a bedside cabinet on the other side of the bed. Granted there is very little space for one, but somewhere to put your morning cuppa would be handy. The sofa is a two seater, quite ample, but maybe another chair of some kind would be a bonus so you're not forced to sit in each others pockets all of the time. For me the highlight of the lodge itself has to be the log burner. It's bigger than most I've seen and everything needed to keep it burning is supplied, including a supply of logs. Venture outside and things get even better. Many properties these days have hot tubs and a handful have saunas, but those that have both are really few and far between, especially for the accomodation price. The hot tub and sauna are also both large, and could easily accommodate more people than the lodge itself can. They are also quality, unlike what's offered at some other properties. The wildlife fan will enjoy the birdlife that's attracted to the pond in the garden, which although is at a low level due to a leak, still draws in the birds, includibg grey wagtails and jays while we were there. Nothing was too much trouble for Lisa the host and text messages and enquiries were answered almost instantly most of the time. Al in all an exceptional place to stay, quiet and secluded and whilst it's a stones throw from the owners property, you'd never feel it was, with the family dogs the only ones that pay attention to your comings and goings. If you're looking for somewhere quiet, with a hot tub, sauna and log burner look no further, you've found what I believe is the best value little gem of a place out there!

Where to start? Spitfire lodge has everything you could ask for and more. From the welcome pack, plus small bottles of milk and orange, to the little touches like candles in the bathroom and lovely information pack all add a personal touch. The place is small but perfectly formed. It is warm and cosy and only a few minutes walk to two local pubs, for drinks and meals out, if you want local. The ninja combi air fryer was a great touch for quick prep. Lisa and Carl are lovely and there if you need them, but you can rest assured of your privacy also. The location is stunning. A lovely tranquil retreat and the sauna and hot tub are fantastic. I have fibromyalgia and so we always seek out hot tubs etc for our homestay retreats and this was one of the best we have been to in the UK We will be back

This was the perfect place for our wedding anniversary getaway! From the moment we booked the communication with Lisa was excellent, even giving us advice on places to eat out. Lisa was there when we arrived and gave us a very warm welcome, showing us around, and how to work the hot tub and sauna, which were ready for us straight away. The lodge is perfect, was very clean and had everything we need, even a basket of treats and fruit, with milk and juice in the fridge. Towels were also provided for the lodge and sauna! We loved sitting out on an evening and just soaking in the peacefulness of the area! We enjoyed our stay so much, we didn't want to leave. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic getaway, this is definitely the place to book, you will not be disappointed! I'm sure we will be back again! Thank you for the perfect week xx

Arriving at Spitfire Lodge we had a lovely welcome. It was relaxed and friendly. Inside we were greater with a well organised and very clean accomadation. The welcome pack was superb with loads of 'goodies' and milk in the fridge. Our dog 'Rosie' had her own welcome pack of treats, poo bags blankets and a bed, how wonderful!. Our four day stay was brilliant, Carl and Lisa were brilliant hosts and the lodge position makes it ideal for exploring the area. The information folder had good recommendations. If you stay there it's well worth booking a session on the Sptfire Simulator with Carl, if you can.....its amazing!!! Highly recommend the venue and the hosts, thank you Lisa and Carl.

Lovely welcome pack given sorry kept forgetting to say thank you , The studio type property was clean and has all you require for a break holiday away. If you are looking for a private place to sit back ,relax and step away from it all , this is definitely the place.We have left feeling so chilled , not going to lie we even thought about claiming squatters rights as we didnt want to leave

We had a lovely few days in lodge. Lisa, Carl and family were very welcoming. More than willing to show us around and how everything worked. Told us of a few places we could visit while we were there. The lodge was clean and very well maintained as were the hot tub and sauna. Which we thoroughly enjoyed using. The welcome basket was very much appreciated when we first arrived until we sussed out where to go to pick supplies up. A folder with great information and suggested places to visit was very useful. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Loads of great places to visit close by. One of our favourites was the Trentham monkey forest which is the only place in Britain where the monkeys live freely. Thankyou for a great retreat. Will definitely return.

Just come back from a lovely long weekend at Spitfire Lodge. The accommodation was perfect. Great for a peaceful and relaxing escape. The hot tub is large and was ready to get into as soon as we arrived, as was the Sauna. The kitchen was well equipped, and there was a lovely basket of goodies. The owners, Lisa and Carl are a really nice friendly couple, who were more than helpful, and offered us advice on places to go locally. Also had a log burner all set up to be lit.
